Notes from the President

***IMPORTANT***If you haven’t already done so, get your tickets for the 2017 Holidaze Party!!!  You don’t want to miss this event!  Invite all of your PHriends!  Grammy nominated Ramajay Intercoastal, open bar, awesome food, silent auction, raffles, and much more all for great causes.  Don’t miss out!!  Details for the weekend are below.  You can purchase your tickets via Paypal at www.stlphc.org or mail a check to the address listed below.  


The STLPHC Board is excited to release the details for the 2017 Holidaze Party Weekend and get the info out for everyone to be able to mark your calendars and make reservations.  We are excited to announce that we will be having our party at Orlando Gardens on Dorsett Road again.  The evening will include dinner buffet, open bar and an evening with Grammy Nominated Ramajay Intercoastal. This years event will require no set up, no table decorating, no lugging coolers back and forth, no buying shuttle tickets for people staying at the Doubletree---just a special night with phriends, GREAT entertainment and our favorite charities.
The smaller venue will hold a maximum of 175.  Tickets are available for $60 via check and $61 via paypal and are available to our phriends from area clubs and other Ramajay Intercoastal fans. You won’t want to miss this event!!

To get your ticket(s) you can mail checks made out to STLPHC to STLPHC—Brandi Shufeldt, 749 Sur Vista Drive, Arnold, MO 63010 or go to www.stlphc.org to pay via paypal.

Don’t forget your raffle ticket.  There are only 300 raffle tickets available.  They will be sold at $20 each with 9 cash prizes ranging from $50-$1500.  The drawing will take place at the Holidaze party and benefit St. Patricks Center.  

Be sure to let us know the names for all the tickets.

December 1-3

December 1--Welcome to STLPHC Holidaze Party for all people staying at Doubletree with music by Terry and Brenda.

December 2--Bloody Mary Brunch with Dave Bennett at the Doubletree-9:30-11:30--$10 –www.stlphc.org

December 2--Holidaze Party at Orlando Gardens 7:00-11:00--$60 by check/$61 by paypal until 175 tickets sold--www.stlphc.org

December 3--Bloody Mary Brunch with Tall Paul at the Doubletree—10:00-12:00--$10 – www.stlphc.org

We are working on the shuttle/Bus to Orlando Gardens.

The board is looking for a Charity Director intern for next year.  If anyone is curious/interested please contact myself or Jane Ellen.

**PHIP Irma and Harvey**

The Lone Palm Foundation is the charitable arm of Parrot Heads in Paradise (PHIP), Inc.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization designed to further the commitment of Parrot Heads worldwide.  We are "Parrot Heads helping Parrot Heads".

The foundation has been busy processing applications and issuing checks for Hurricane Harvey .  The aftermath of Harvey is still unfolding and the reality of Irma is fast approaching.

Below are the guidelines and assistance application for those affected by natural disaster.  

Parrot Head Emergency Phund Guidelines

The purpose of the Emergency Phund is to aid Parrot Heads with financial assistance during difficulties resulting from a natural disaster. The Phund is maintained by the Board of Directors on the Lone Palm Foundation and applications will be reviewed by this board. Assistance approval is based on Board review and availability of funds.
Please note, applications are limited to one application, per household, per natural disaster.
The following are eligibility requirements that must be met in order to receive consideration for funding:
    • The application must be submitted by a Parrot Head who is a member, in good standing, in a PHIP registered club. Please provide your club’s point of contact to verify membership.
    • Requests for funds must be as a result of a natural disaster: a natural event such as flood, earthquake, tornado or hurricane that causes great damage or loss of life.
    • In order for the application to be considered complete, and ready for review, it must also provide your verification of need in the form of photos, references, or letters of support.
Application Procedure
Please be as detailed as possible when completing your application. This will ensure The Lone Palm Foundation Board has all the information they need to review and make a decision on your application. Once your complete application and verification documents have been submitted, it will be reviewed in the order it was received. If the Lone Palm Foundation Board should need additional information, please be sure to provide this in a timely manner. Failure to provide the information in a timely manner could result in loss of consideration for funding.
Repayment and Donation
There is no requirement for repayment of the financial assistance provided through the Lone Palm Foundation Emergency Phund. We do encourage all Parrot Heads to help The Lone Palm Foundation continue its operations by making a donation once the crisis has passed. This donation will allow us to help many other Parrot Heads who find themselves in the same situation.
To apply
Fill out and submit the Lone Palm Foundation Emergency Fund Request application. You can do this by hand, using Adobe Reader DC or by an  online service such as PDFfiller..

Many of you have heard about Mike Miller.  If not, you can look at his facebook page.  We will be working on some kind of club fundraising for him.  We will send something out about that once we have the details hammered out.  Information about Mike’s situation can be found here.
